Hook 'N horn was squared and built by Telford Widgren and George Perkins of Nestor Falls Ontario in 1946. As time went on, various additions such as lodging were added, and before long, it became Hook 'N Horn Fly-In Fishing Adventure Lodge. The resort has been family owned and operated since its official conception. It served as a commercial operation until the year 2017, when ownership decided it was time for a revamp. Now, Hook ‘N Horn is a catch-and-release lodge with a dedicated staff providing the fishing trip of a lifetime.
Parrett created a truly one-of-a-kind entry door system to set the stage and welcome guests to their stay at Hook & Horn. Constructed of sapele mahogany, this door system also features an extruded aluminum exterior which will provide a long-lasting and low -maintenance exterior. Additionally, Parrett employed it’s unique “woodgrain clad” finish to match the aesthetic appearance of the surrounding wood of the building. Compared to some other “film” decorative aluminum finishes, Parrett’s technique offers similar durability to a typical AAMA 2605 finish. The mahogany interiors were factory-finished by Parrett as well.
Sand-casted Bronze Rocky Mountain Mortise Entry Hardware provides a secure locking and door operation while becoming only more beautiful through the years as it develops a natural patina through usage and handling. Low E glass was employed to enhance thermal efficiency during the Canadian winters and Parrett also created custom fish and aquatic plant imagery which was integrated into the door systems as seen above.
Surely, the most impressive feature of this door system is the custom-designed three-dimensional Hook & Horn emblem which was integrated into the design of both the interior and exterior of the door system, which still working within the design of the door astragal to ensure high-performance door sealing.
