At Parrett we pride ourselves on the flexibility to meet the needs of all of our customers. The following option descriptions are not a complete listing of the custom options available, but is provided to show just some of the more popular unique options that we encounter. We welcome the challenges of unique door projects!

Custom Design Option Examples Gallery

Oversize Swing Doors

Oversized Swing Doors have been engineered by Parrett to perform highly once installed in the field. This project featured door panels over 10 feet tall.

Curved Swing Doors

Parrett is unrivaled in our Curved Door capabilities. In addition to providing both single and French curved doors, we also can cast metal sills to the required door radius.

Angled & Corner Doors

Angled/Corner Doors are available with or without a corner post. This French angled corner door has no cornerpost and features hardware with multipoint handlesets.

Profiled Door Jambs

Profiled Door Jambs are available with both standard and custom profiles on any door shape to match your desired specifications.

Custom Profile Details

Intricate Moulding Details such as those seen above are one of Parrett’s specialties. Details can be replicated from physical samples for historic replication projects and/or be fabricated to meet your design specifications.

Split Species Doors

Split Species doors are one of Parrett’s specialties. This walnut/mahogany door featured a recessed panel that was entirely mahogany to tie the design together.

Wood Louver Style "A"

A variety of Wood Louvers are available in several slat styles and finishes which can be integrated into any of our door product lines. Above is a factory painted, stationary louver.

Wood Louver Style "B"

Directly above is a louver that has a Removable Slat Panel. This can allow removal of the louver temporarily to place a screen, panel, etc.

Wood Louver Style "C"

A variety of slat types are available such as the example seen here that allows for Air Movement even if the door is closed. Louvers are available in any wood species and can be fully finished by Parrett.

Interior Door Systems

Interior Doors such as the oversized example are typically specified with “no sill”. As shown above, Parrett typically ships these doors pre-hung within the door frame and with a temporary wood sill.

Dutch Doors

Dutch Doors can be an excellent solution for applications such as waiting rooms, veterinary clinics, concession stands, etc. A shelf can also be integrated as well based on the intended application. The unit shown allows both top & bottom sashes to be opened independently or in unison.

Double Acting Kitchen Door

This unique Double Acting Swing Door was specified for a high-end residential kitchen to easily allow food to be transported to and from the kitchen. It also featured a unique small glass cutout to allow users to easily see if another person was on the other side prior to operating the door.

Custom Hardware Routing

Parrett offers Custom Routing/Machining to accommodate Jobsite Installed Hardware. Utilizing hardware templates, Parrett will ensure that the machining is positioned perfectly to ensure that the door operates properly after hardware is installed.

Venting Door Panels

Venting Door Panels are available such as the unique door sash pictured here that has an operable hung window built-into it.

Unique Transom Designs

Unique Transom Designs such as this gothic shaped v-groove panel are available. This example was designed to have the v-grooves align with the French door unit below.

Operable Door Transoms

As seen in this historic storefront replication, Parrett manufactures operable transom units which includes awnings, hoppers, and pivoting units.

Pushout (Door) Casement

This Pushout Casement was equipped with a Keyed Door Multipoint Locking system matching the hardware appearance and operation of the other swing doors on the project.

"Casement Profile" Door

Casement Profile “Door” units from Parrett are available at door sizes due to our high-quality construction methods. This French Euro Inswing casement matches the true window units on this project, but also allows the ability to be “walked through.”

Metal Inlay Plank Door

This plank style door featured unique metal inlays.

Speakeasy Plank Door

This plank door includes a mail slot and operable “Speakeasy” hardware that featured a glass lite and an operable metal "panel."

"Dungeon" Plank Clavos Door

This “dungeon” style door features a speakeasy grille with glass, and has clavos decorations.

Decorative Stained Glass

Balcony Door Hardware

This Balcony Door featured a single Cremone Bolt on the active panel with concealed flushbolts on the semi-active panel. There was no exterior facing operable hardware function in this configuration.

Radius Raised Panel Doors

Raised Panel doors are available in unlimited door and panel shapes as seen in this half-round French door with radius shaped raised panels.

Dentil / Shelf Mouldings

Dentil Moulding such as that shown in the example above is just one of the design options available with Parrett.

Wrought Iron Door Grilles

Wrought Iron Door Grilles can be custom designed to match your aesthetic preference and are securely installed into the door sash.

Custom Stain & Clear Coating

Custom Color Stain & Clear Coating is provided by Parrett, allowing us to easily match existing woodwork and/or wood products from other product manufacturers. The unit above is a white oak door that was stained in a custom green color to match a sample provided by the customer.

Removable Screen Panels

Removable Screen Panels
Door Components such as these large Screen Panels are available through Parrett. Also, available are other components such as Door Frames and Door Panels which can either have the machining for hardware done by Parrett, or left to be done in the field.
