Rotating Awning Information

Parrett’s rotating awnings have a unique hardware configuration that allows for the full rotation of the operating sash. This is beneficial as it allows the exterior surface of the glass to be cleaned from the inside of the building, potentially saving the cost of hiring window cleaners for windows located in difficult or inaccessible location.

Parrett rotating awnings are available with either crankout or pushout hardware. You can view our standard crankout hardware here and see contemporary handle solutions below the rotating awning examples. Of course, Parrett has countless other hardware operators available.

Rotating Awning Example – Crankout

1. Crankout awning in closed position.
2. Unit in normal venting position.
3. Operator arm is easily detached from sash to enable full sash rotation.
4. Operator arm is then retracted with crankout handle, allowing sash to then be rotated 180° as shown above at right. Glass is shown in blue to illustrate exterior glass surface access from the building interior.

Rotating Awning Example – Pushout

1. Pushout awning in closed position.
2. Unit in normal venting position.
3. Unit shown being “rotated” to allow access to exterior glass surface for ease of cleaning. Glass is shown in blue to show exterior glass surface access from the building interior. Shown fully rotated above at right.
